Summer 2015

August 7, 2015

School starts back for me on Monday.  Well only the teachers for in service  with the kids following on Monday the 17th.  I guess you could say summer is coming to an end.  Yes the heat is still here and there is still weeks ahead of pool and patio time.  We have one more big pool party planned in the end August to finish off the season.  I have been in love this summer with who I have become.  I’ve over come some things that have been riding my coat-tail for years.

I have said before that I plan these great ideas for my summer break and most of the time never follow through with them.  That was the first thing I did this summer.  was break that circle of putting so many things before what I wanted to do and places I wanted to see.   I did make one great trip to a far away city, San Francisco. It was amazing – so much art and things to see.  I also explored Texas a bit and will continue this into the fall and winter months.  By far my favorite place was the trip to Waco to visit Magnolia Market.  It was the top of my list and I almost let it slip away but forced myself to follow through. In some ways that gave me the push to visit other places and allow myself to enjoy them. I think we all are of the nature to put things off we really want to do because we feel held down with responsibility.  The trick is to work in some down time with the responsibilities so not to get burn out.  I will continue to have down time and off time. It’s good for my soul.

I made a few changes to my art career over the summer.  I will continue at Wylie Prep because it is where I’m called to serve.  I have retired my private studio and moved into the world of blogging about my art, decorating and about being happy where you are planted.  For some this might seem like small steps or even meaningless but for me this is big. It’s the dawn of my new day to share my creativity with others.

As summer comes to an end I feel quite accomplished.  Everyday isn’t perfect and things do go wrong, but I feel happy.  I can truly say I’m happier than I’ve ever been in my life.  I look around and see the greatness God has blessed me with.  My husband and I have a strong marriage, friendship and relationship.  I have a table full of great friends, my kids are moving on in life as strong adults learning new things everyday and my faith grows ever stronger through prayer.  This blog is to help those that read it, to give support and ideas for making life full of color.  I love blogging and will continue into the next seasons.  Blue Happy is something we all have to work for everyday.  As for me I have found my Blue Happy, but know if I work for it each day I’ll be blessed with more Blue Happy moments. Go find yours!
