I Am Thankful For….

November 18, 2015

This time of year the hustle and bustle of the holiday season seems to get started earlier and earlier ever year. It’s easy to get caught up in it.

I decided this year that I’m going to plan ahead so I have the time to enjoy each holiday and the process of each. Starting with Thanksgiving. Every year Thanksgiving comes and goes and all I can think about is what I need to get done for Christmas. Not this year! One day at a time, one holiday at a time; with memories to share and loved ones to enjoy.

Every Thanksgiving we sit around the table with our plate full of food and one by one we tell what we are thankful for. Most say my family, home, job or health. Then we eat, eat and eat some more. Not sure I’ve ever really took the time to put pen to paper and really explore what I’m thankful for. I’m all about change and stepping out of the box so off to explore what my blessings are in my life.

I’m warm tonight in a home that is quiet and beautiful. The floors are clean and I’m safe behind the locked doors. I’m allowed to pray each night as I prepare for bed. I lay in my bed with no hunger because I’m blessed to have all that I want and need to eat. Next to me is my husband of 30 years. I love him and I feel loved by him everyday. My daughter is tucked safely in her home just 5 miles away with her sweet husband and my grandson. They are building a life together that is bright and full of new adventures. Their new home will be ready in mid summer and they will move in and make new memories and moments. My son is about to turn 23 and is living and exploring his life. He has a beautiful smile that lets the world know he is spirited and full of life. He shares his life with his girlfriend and his side kick Hartley the dog. I live a full life everyday with teaching and blogging. I fill my days with art and that makes me happy. I’m grateful for the words God puts in my heart that form the blogs of Blue Happy Living.  I have a best friend that I waited all my life for, her name is Karen and she is stunning and beautiful. We are like sisters and I’m so blessed God allowed me to be apart of her life. I have so many more friends that surround me and feel like family. I know they would do anything for Greg and I. I’m blessed that I have my fur babies, Cooper and Cherry. I’m blessed to have an amazing doctor. That might seem really odd to say but the rebuild of my health is important to me and I see it as a blessing. Without a doubt the girls from the gym are a gift that blesses me everyday. I do love them all and couldn’t have walked the past 3 years without them. I love our time in the gym, our fellowship outside the gym and all the texts and calls. I teach at a school that puts God first before all things. My heart is overwhelmed with all the love I feel everyday. My bills are paid and my heart is full. God is so good and I am blessed. With all that said I am thankful, Blue Happy, and wish all that for you, too.
