It’s Another Reveal Day!

February 12, 2016

So I got the pool bathroom done yesterday.  Like I said yesterday I got the floors and vanity top done over a year ago.  Why I stopped and didn’t finish I don’t know because it only took me one Longgggggggg day to finish it up.  I love it and Greg is very happy his office/ pool bathroom is all finished up.  Well there is one thing that still has to be done and that is plumbing.  I leave plumbing up to the professionals or my husband.  I bought the new faucets for the shower but Greg was in meetings all day and didn’t get to it.  I guess he has a few honey do’s on his list this weekend.  The old faucet has to go it’s that yellow gold and I do not like it.

Oh my this bathroom is so pretty.  I love that my cabinets match the poker room  and kitchen cabinets. It gives my decor in my home and nice even flow from one room to the next.  The paint I used is Midnight Fog by Valspar, it can be purchased at Lowe’s.  Like all the other cabinet redo’s I have done I used two coats of paint followed by sanding the corners and edges.  Before you start to put on the clear finish wipe down the cabinets and let them dry.  By doing this you will have a nice smooth finish.  My favorite thing to do is the hardware on the doors and drawers.  Hardware gives it the finishing touch and makes a statement.

Once the cabinets were finished I headed up the ladder to install the new light fixture.  When I removed the old very contemporary light fixture I was quiet surprised.  The old light fixture covered a very large hole in the wall.  I could tell by the picture on the box of my new one it wasn’t gonna cover it.  So off to Lowe’s to return and then purchase a new light.  I grabbed up the one I wanted and back home to install it before I lost the light of the sun.  It looks so amazing and brightens up the room with the clear globes.  I love it!

Floors, cabinets, lighting and vanity all done so now what?  It’s the fun stuff all the decorating and organizing.  I started with making a new towel hook to organize my guest towels on the wall.  I recycled an old board that I found in Greg’ wood pile and painted it a bright blue. I added black hooks and use metal labels over each one with one of my favorite quotes.  I put the white shower curtain back up.  There was nothing in the world wrong with it so if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.  White shower curtains are great in small bathrooms it makes them look larger.  A rug on the floor and hand soap on the side of the sink and this is a done pool bathroom.  Well not so fast I couldn’t do the new faucet in the shower because I don’t do plumbing I leave that to the Hubs and he was working all day.  Looks like he has a honey do list this weekend.

You may notice that in the final picture the mirror is the same as before.  I didn’t get to use my vintage  mirror because Greg didn’t like it.  I gave in and decided to use it in my Jack and Jill bathroom.  After all, I gave into him because he does use the bathroom everyday.  I love the way it turned out I just can’t believe I put it off for so long.  Sometimes, we all have things that we put off because we think it will take so long to do.  Finishing up this bathroom gives me such a feel of accomplishment and Greg is pretty happy as well.  Is there something you are putting off? Maybe today or this weekend is the time to dive in and finish it up so you can feel accomplished.  Today is Friday I hope your day is so Blue Happy.
