Another Big Reveal Part 1

February 11, 2016

I have decided to focus on all the half done projects around my house. I would like to have my house completely done by the end of May. This summer is going to be quiet busy so I need to tie up all those unfinished projects.

When we redid the kitchen floor we also redid the floor in the pool bathroom. It’s called the pool bathroom because it is the bathroom everyone uses when they are in the pool or on the patio. When the granite was installed in the kitchen I got a great deal so I had the vanity replaced at the time as well. Words of wisdom the more granite you install the cheaper it is if you shop around. So…….. floors done, vanity replaced and then I stopped and moved on to another project. I have told myself every weekend and holiday I’ll get it done but nope, it never happened. So I’ve made this little bathroom my focus.

I started this week by clearing out things and cleaning it. I shopped for a new light fixture and faucets for the tub/shower and I have gathered other decorative items to finish it out. I’ll be painting the cabinets the color of the kitchen cabinets in midnight fog. That is the same color I used on my bedroom furniture. I love Valspar paint from Lowes. It covers really well and has a built-in primer. I’m not sure I’ll give away much more of the decorative things you will have to come back tomorrow for the big reveal. Although, I will say you are gonna love the vintage mirror I found for over the sink it is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!

This little bathroom is used a lot in our home. It’s the main bathroom used by our guest and Greg during the day. It is placed just inside the patio door and directly next to Greg’s office. It is a well placed bathroom in the homes design. Storage is a big part of this bathroom.  Because it is a bathroom mainly use for guest I can use the cabinet space for many things other than personal items normally stored in a bathroom.  In the vanity I have a drawer that has bathing suits of all sizes for girls and boys. This comes in handy when you have guest that forgets their swim suit. I also have a drawer that has goggles, sunscreen and most any type of pool item you need. On the wall there is a towel hook that I keep several towels out for guest to use at the pool. I love the bicycle towel hook I have now but my daughter has requested it for her new house. I’m a bit over it and ready to move on to something new. I share a lot of things I’m no longer using with friends and family. Just because you don’t want it anymore doesn’t mean it’s not good anymore. When you redo a room or get rid of things always ask around to see if someone else is in need of them. This will decrease clutter in your home and recycling your home decor can be a blessing to someone else.

I’m so excited to share the new bathroom with you tomorrow. Greg is excited that I’m going to finish this project up and move on the finishing up his office, and our 2 guest bedrooms with the Jack and Jill bathroom. I hope that this Thursday is a great Blue Happy Day for you. Keep your head up and a smile on your face.  Remember happiness is choice!
