What Do You See?

July 6, 2016

It’s hard to look around these days and love everything you see going on. The news last night was just over whelming to say the least. People getting away with crimes and not being punished, a mom shopping in Walmart for over an hour while her 3-year-old son sat in a hot car with temperatures over 90 and the traffic jams in Dallas oh my goodness. I went to bed and wanted to just pull the covers over my head. We live in a world that is a bit of a mess these days and all that causes me to feel stressed. I’m a worker bee kinda person so when I get stressed I get to organizing. The question at hand is “What do I see” in my home that needs to be organized?

Weeks ago I blogged about my laundry room or the lack there of. It’s not a laundry room like the realtor posted on the description of the home. It’s a pass between people, you know like when you open the garage door to walk in the back of the home you pass between the washer and dryer. One is on the left and one is on your right as you pass between them. I loved so much about this house I gazed over this little issue when I said I DO to this home. Now is it a deal breaker, will I sale my home because of it and the answer is NO. I’m gonna embrace this issue by decoratively organizing it.

Over the past 6 years I have added things that make it work better but I’m gonna really trick it out and make it work better for me. I don’t have a lot of laundry each week because it’s just Greg and I. My laundry is done  on Sunday, about 3 loads and they are really small. In 3 weeks my daughter and her family will be moving in to stay until their house is done in October. She has lots of laundry, kids they do that to you. I’m looking forward to hosting them, as their lease was up and the new build isn’t finished. I wanna make sure my laundry room is easy to use so she feels like she can get her laundry done and move on.

I have shopped for all the goodies that I need and the redo is starting today. I have purchased mostly used items that I will be using and a hand full of new items. I can’t wait for you to see this transformation. My goal is to show you how to use what you’ve got and make it work for you not against you. I also want you to see you DO NOT have to spend a load of cash to make this happen. I hear so many people say my home just doesn’t work for us its to small, no storage and we have out grown the space. They follow it by saying we need a new home but can’t afford to move. Okay if that is the issue then make what you have work. Get rid of things you don’t need, rethink the space you are living in and most of all get rid of the idea that your home doesn’t work for you. If you keep that in your head then it will be the wall you keep running into and you will never open up your mind to making it work.

I hear from people all the time asking me how to decoratively organize their home and make it more comfortable. I hope by showing you some of my trouble spots in my home and how I make them work will help you in your home. So Thursday and Friday of this week I’m going to show you 2 of the most troubled spots in my home the laundry room aka the pass between and my Christmas closet. Yes I have a really big closet dedicated just to my Christmas stuff. Sad thing is I have ignored it for years and there is so much and most needs to go. So I’m gonna show you my dirty little secrets about my house this week and share with you how I conquered it.

Today is hump day and it looks like its gonna be a great day to be Blue Happy! Make sure that you up lift someone today with a smile, a compliment or a word of encouragement.
