Doctor’s Report Update

December 7, 2016

Tuesday was a long day people. I started it with my sweet girls in art club for our last meeting of this year. I left art club and headed straight to my doctor for a check up on my surgery. They were so busy I had to wait a bit before I could see them but that’s okay I like the staff and enjoy talking to them.

Well it was finally my turn and Dr. A was really pleased with my progress. He says I’m healing well and the stitches inside will begin to resolve over the next few weeks. I can begin massaging the incision area so the scares will soften. I followed his orders to the T with my stomach skin removal and my scare is  nearly gone. Although everything is looking well he is concerned I still have about 60% swelling in my legs. He showed me how to massage my legs to help make that disappear over the next few weeks. My arms have about 25% swelling and right on track. I’m amazed at how much better they feel with all that skin removed. Here are a couple of pictures, bruising is almost gone. My skin is still very tight but will relax as the swelling goes down.  I’m looking forward to my healing time.

My skin removal has made me feel so much better. Although swollen my legs aren’t heavy and in pain, my arms the same. This has given me so much more freedom to move and exercise. I can’t wait to return to the gym and start to rebuild with less skin. I always felt a bit limited because my extra skin kept me from doing things I wanted to do. Running will be so much easier, along with jumping, lunges and all the other movements strained from heavier legs. I’m more motivated than every before to keep up this journey.  I look at photo’s and just can’t believe I was living to die.  My death sentence was due to my need to shovel not just food but bad foods into my month.  I love life so much and appreciate it everyday that I wake up.  What a gift life is for me and I almost lost it.

I’m so blessed to have a husband that is allowing me to do all of this. I’m blessed to have my 2 doctors and their team of people who are now my friends. I’m blessed to have my gym gals that support me and workout with me. I’m blessed to be given this second chance in life. I’m so very blessed and Blue Happy to live this life of mine. I’m looking forward to the holiday’s with my friends and family. It’s Wednesday today and we are have Christmas parties in all of my art classes. It might be hump day but it’s a great Blue Happy day.
