Blog Is Interrupted But The Payoff Is Good

April 12, 2017

The blog that was for today was interrupted to bring you news from my trash trolling last night.  I hit the jack pot and I wanted to share it with you. Tomorrow is a great blog that you do not wanna miss.

I spend many hours trolling for trash in my neighborhood as well as many others. Sometimes the picks are good and sometimes it’s a dry run. I pick up everything from scrap lumber to furniture. I’ve even gotten a few kids toys for my grandkids. A little soap and water and they are ready for play time. It amazes me as to what people toss out and how flipped we are about the land fields filling up. As we grow in this world so does the trash. I love saving items that need a creative twist to make them upcycled for the home.

Thanks to my sweet friend Sara I saved a few pieces from the land field. Last night I was on my way home from my daughter’s house and I got a text from Sara. It said “tomorrow is our bulk pick up in our neighborhood. On my way home I saw a dresser, here is the street”. Perfect I was almost to the turn for her neighborhood. I love the GPS in my Blue Happy truck. I punched in the street and there it was a beautiful junked piece of furniture waiting on me to grab it up. I did and I can’t wait to redo this one, I already have an idea.

I decided I would troll the other streets and I was so excited when I came across this chair. It is so pretty and just needs a bit of TLC to bring it back to life. On down the road I found another treasure when I found a large gold framed mirror. I forgot to take a picture of it before I put it in storage after the gym this morning. It still had the card board protection corners on it. I’m guessing it has never been used. This will not be a redo it’s going to my besties house to hang. She had told me she wanted one so it’s her’s now. The other jewel was a piece of artwork. It is Asian style in a gold frame. I haven’t taken it apart yet to see if it has damage put it looks like all the damage is on the outside glass and frame. Karen has always wanted to go to Japan, it’s on her bucket list to visit. Me not so much I don’t like their food so I’m out. If this piece is in good shape I will reframe it and give it to her. Stop crying Karen I wish I could shower you with gifts all the time. You will just have to settle for trash troll finds.

I’m crazy working on all the stuff for the May sidewalk sale at Doc Holliday’s Emporium.  This one is gonna be my biggest load ever at one sale.  I’m doing lots of outside pieces for your porch, home decor pieces and I’ll have not 1 but 3 dressers there all different style and color.  I hope you have a blessed hump day the weekend is just around the corner.
