2 Big Events 1 Day

May 11, 2017

This day couldn’t have been any better. On this day 2 big events for someone very special in my life. I never thought I could love any child more than my own and then it happened. May 11th is Ethan’s birthday my grandson. This kid came into this world and knocked my feet right out from under me. How could such a little bitty thing run away with my heart. I started his day with donuts at 7am. I don’t wanna miss any of his special days.

Ethan has this way of taking you in. His loving heart wraps around you and you are hopeless. He makes me laugh and keeps me on my toes. I have no idea how to work our TV, iPad or most of the time the DVR but Ethan does. When he comes over to my house he will take my hand and say come on Lolli let’s do something in your studio. I love when it’s just he and I in the studio. Well Cooper and Cherry are never far away. Today we celebrate Ethan and his 6 very sweet years here with us. I’m looking so forward to watching him grow over the years birthday after birthday.

This year was special because he was in kindergarten at the school I teach for. It was great that I got to bring art to his class on Wednesdays. After only 2 weeks into school I was walking past the play ground and I heard children calling out “hello Lolli”. I looked up to see most of his class mates looking at me. My heart was overwhelmed that he started them all calling me Lolli. I choked back the tears, smiled and waved.

At six o’clock tonight as a family we all piled in a large room with other families. It was Kindergarten graduation for the class of 2017. One by one the kids marched in, sang 3 songs and made us proud. An award was given to each child based on their spirit. I was so proud when the teacher while speaking of Ethan said he always looks to do the right thing and to be honest. I know his mom and dad are so proud of him. After awards they were walked across stage to get their diploma, introduced as the graduating class of 2017, then hats were tossed. Such a sweet moment for him and a blessed birthday as well. I couldn’t be more proud to say Ethan is my grandson.

I’m a proud Lolli and as for this day it’s pretty Blue Happy!
