4th of July Brings Much Needed Relief

July 5, 2017

The 4th of July has become a time for families to come together. We made good use of our day and spent it doing just that. My kids, their families, our dear friends and my daughters in-laws spent the day eating, talking and holding grandkids. Dallas has a crew of friends that always shows up when they hear pool and food. I love to see young people in my home eating and enjoying themselves. That happened a lot Tuesday.

The menu was loaded with all the traditional 4th of July foods. Like baked beans, potato salad, ribs, chicken and avocado  salad. There was a bunch more I’ll let the pictures do the talking on that. After we ate it was pool time and time to visit with everyone. I loved it! We added a new bench to our patio that gave us the extra setting we needed. Greg spent the week fixing things up on our patio and tomorrow’s blog will be all about things that you can do on the cheap. It may not cost much but it will make a big impact.

I took that last two days off from blogging to refuel my heart, head and soul. I’m hoping Thursday’s Doctor visit will be good news on the return to my active life. I’m pretty sure if he does release me tomorrow it will be limited because my incision is still open a bit.  I’ve had a hard time this time around.  The down time seem to drag on to a point of making me very cranky.  Most of my friends think I’ve lost it because of the consent complaining and whining.  I’m so ready to get back at it and with all the things coming down the pipeline for Blue Happy I need to get back to work.  There is some great news around the corner I’m having a hard time holding back from sharing. Soon enough my friends soon enough.

Tomorrow’s blog is a reveal of my summer patio living space.  Every year we add things to make it work for our family.  This year we added a bench and a few small things that warmed it right up.  Clearly one of my grand babies totally gets the relaxing thing on the patio. Lyla had no problem sleeping while her momma walked her around the pool. We all cracked up over this picture. Candles are so important to our space to keep the bugs away.  I wanted these candles to be part of the decor and not the ugly thing you light to burn.  I found away to take a few estate sale finds and make a no bug zone with beautiful candles.  Friday will be a reveal of all the Saturday sidewalk sale items.  I hope you time off on the fourth was relaxing and you made Blue Happy memories.  I know my family did.
