Starting Your Day Easy

September 12, 2017

How many mornings have you got up and ran around the house like a crazy person looking for this or that? I’ve had my fair share of those mornings and I hated them, every one of them. We are blessed to be given each day and I for one do not want to waste them. Years ago when I was a kid at home mornings were so painful and for that reason as an adult I changed the very things I hated. DISORGANIZATION was and will always be at the root of all crazy mornings trying to get out of the house. My life has changed forever doing these small easy steps.

For me each day starts the night before.  I always lay out my clothing needs so I’m ready to jump right into them.  I have 2 stacks one for the gym and one for school.  I even undo my shoes and put my socks in each shoes.  Some may say that is over the top but it moves me out of the house at least 10 minutes earlier. I leave my water bottles, protein shake and purse sitting next to the back door so I grab and go.

I take vitamins in the morning and I have those in a jar with an easy to open lid.  It saves me time not having to open each jar and put the lid back on.  The glass container also makes it easy not to forget because I can see the vitamins clearly.  You will also notice that next to my vitamins are other glass containers that have bobby pins, hair clips, q-tips, cotton pads and pony tail holders.  I recycled all these glass containers from estate sales.  Cheap and add so much storage on your bathroom vanity.  All easy to get to when your need them and easy to put away when you are done.

After I get home from the gym I jump in the shower.  My towels are ready and waiting on a hook just outside the shower door.  All the products I use on my body are in one drawer organized in the order I use them.  I have to use a silicon cream on all my scars and that takes so much time.  So having everything organize helps.

All my hair products, brushes, gels and blow dryer are within easy reach.  I always leave my blow dryer plugged in and ready to go so on those mornings I do wash my hair it’s easy pease.

In my makeup drawer I only have  the items I use daily.  If you have dig through things to find what you want you are wasting time and running late. I also keep my tooth-brush in the drawer because that is the last thing I do before I put on makeup.

As I fly out the door I grab a hug and a kiss from Greg, fill my protein shake with coconut milk and shake it as I walk out the door.  I’m off in record time.  Now I know there are some of you saying that is way to much prep work the night before. Or no one is that organized all the time.  I’ve learned over the years that keeping organized during the work week keeps the weekends free of prep work. For me that is a great pay off.  Just take the time planning your day starting the night before and do it for at least 2 weeks.  I promise you will see a difference in how you feel and view those mornings of getting out the door.
