What A Hump Day It Was

November 8, 2017

I’m steady working on the new Blue Happy collection for the sidewalk sale on Saturday. Thank you Texas rain, there is furniture all over my house, studio, garage and work shop. I’m spending every waking hour working on some pretty special items. I’m burning the candle at both ends this week. It’s the last week before our big art show at school, Saturday is the sidewalk sale, I have a big surprise I’m announcing on Saturday morning at 9am, we have family coming in from out-of-town and then the art show on Monday night. I’m so tired just typing all that out.

Next week at Doc’s I have a Christmas tray paint class coming up. It’s scheduled for Thursday the 16 at 6:30 in the Doc Holliday class studio. The cost of the class is $45.  We did this class back in October and did a fall tray. Each tray is chalked full of information to teach you how to chalk paint. You will learn all my little secrets to make chalk painting your obsession. We have such a good time at these classes and you will leave with a chalk painters starter kit, a beautiful tray and new friends.

I like to answer question that I’m often ask.  I thought tonight was a great time to do that.  I’m not really showing you any redo this week because I’m waiting until Friday.  That is the day I’ll release the sidewalk sale Photo’s.  So here we go……………

  1. Can you use chalk paint on metal? No because it is water based and it could cause the metal to rust. This photo is an old metal filing cabinet and you can see the rust coming through.
  2. Do you do custom work for people? Yes I do just contact me with what you are wanting.
  3. How often do you work on furniture? EVERYDAY!! Not kidding I work on something everyday that I have open.  I sometimes come home from school on my lunch to put on a final coat of paint or clear coat.  It takes that to keep up with the booth.
  4. How much does Greg help you?  Greg is an equal partner in Blue Happy.  I’m the design side he is the business side.  I hate bookkeeping so he takes care of all that kinda stuff.  He also does most of the handy work of the pieces.  I think it up and he makes it up. He got a new toy today because our tablesaw of 17 years went goodbye.

Well I got up this morning at 3:30 and I’m getting up that early in the morning.  Tomorrow will be such a Blue Happy day, just let yourself be open to that and it will be.
