Backed Into A Corner

November 3, 2016

When my plate gets over loaded I feel like I’m backed into a corner. I feel like all the projects are standing in front of me and pushing at me. That is how I feel these days with all that is going on this next two weeks.

The big move out for my daughter family happens on the 8th. That will be 3 to 5 busy days of organizing, rearranging furniture and decorating. A few days later I’m involved in a Christmas shopping event were Blue Happy will be selling items. The very next day is my student art show at Wylie Prep. Finally on the 16th I’ll be involved in an event that I’ll blog about later. All these things will take time so I have to stay organized with to do list.

While we are talking about corners it’s a good time to talk about a corner piece. In my daughter’s house her and her husband opted to have a very large spa shower. It’s beautiful but it you get something you have to give something up. That something they gave up was storage in the form of a bathroom pantry.  So I put out the call to her mother-in-law my friend Janice that we needed a tall but thin cabinet.  Janice had one already that was a corner cabinet.  In the water closet or what I call the potty room there is space to put just a cabinet.  Janice brought over the cabinet this past weekend and stayed to help paint. She got a very good start on the cabinet and I finished it up on Monday. We painted with the same paint we are using on almost all of the furniture Valspar Antique White.

Just when I thought I was done Heather walked up and said ” Ill have to make sure I keep the top part nice and neat”. Well you know me my head started to think I can fix that and I have just the product.  Valspar to the rescue once again with the Frosted Etched-Glass spray.  So I lightly sprayed the inside glass of the cabinet.  Once that was dry I lightly sprayed over the top a clear finish spray to seal it.  The best part of the corner cabinet is the bottom door can be locked a great place for storing cleaning supplies.  Safe from a babies little hands locked up for only Mommy and Daddy to use.

It’s easy to get over whelmed with our busy lives.  We get a lot done but we have to give up something in order to get something just like my daughter and son-in-law did in their bathroom.  I love to be busy it’s like I need that kinda challenge to see if I can get it all done.  I thrive on being busy and moving from one project to another.  Although we give up something we can always find away to get things done in the order we need them to be.  Life is what you make it, I live by this daily.  If I want to rest I find the time to do it, if I want to be busy I find that time as well.  It’s so easy to make excuses as to why we don’t get things done or why we don’t have time to do this or that.  If you don’t like life get up today and make a change.  A small step in better than no step at all.  Tuesday is gonna be a day of success  and Blue Happiness.  Go grab your Blue Happy Tuesday.
