Art Studio Build Part 1

October 16, 2015

The building of my art studio has been an amazing process to go through. It started out one size, with one plan and now has moved into another size with a new plan. The build of this studio has been a long time dream for me. A place to create, a place for me to be me, a place to grow Blue Happy and a place for art to flow and just become. A little over a year ago I decided I needed to follow through with this Blue Happy dream.  No matter how it turned out I needed to go down this path and follow this journey.  This little studio is on that path and its finally going to be!

My husband and John a dear friend has done most of the work on the studio. I need to also mention our friend Tim and my son Dallas have all put a lot of sweat and time just to get it done. I love that these guys are doing this for me without pay, without complaining and giving up so much of their time.  I’m a blessed girl to have such fantastic friends, son and hubby.

This all started with a napkin drawing I did while sitting on the patio in early summer. Greg and John kinda took it and ran with it. Work was slow because these guys do have jobs and so weekend work it had to be. It got slowed down a bit because my husband got sick but things are back on track now. Greg is on the mend and the studio is on the fast track of being finished.

As I have blogged before about the walls being made from old doors  I wasn’t sure my husband would go for this but he did. I often have crazy ideas that sometimes work and sometimes don’t but he was willing to entertain the idea. The light that will come into this studio from all the windows in these old doors will be amazing. I’m so overwhelmed ever time I go in to this little studio. I can feel the sunshine and love going into it. I really can’t wait to fill it with art and creativity.

I have been shopping garage sales, auctions and trash pick up day to fill the space with recycled items. I have found so many treasures and I can’t wait to share them with you. It will be over the top decoratively organized.

I will be blogging about the studio in 3 stages. This blog is clearly about the building process, Blog 2 will be about the finished studio on the outside and Blog 3 will be about the inside. I’m so Blue Happy to share all 3 of these blogs with you. I feel like I’m walking on a Blue Happy cloud. Go be Blue Happy!
