Reveal Part One Our Nest

February 2, 2016

I’ve been married for 30 years it has been at its best and worst many times.  I love this man, we share 2 kids and many pets over these years.  These days find us as empty nesters with 2 little dogs Cooper and Cherry.  We are a very active couple, most weekends you will find us out and about coming home late.  That is not the story in the middle of the week.  We are almost always ready to settle into our bedroom around 8:30.  Greg always watching some weird TV show and me blogging or trying to go to sleep because the morning gym life comes early.

Over the years we have had many homes and lived in many towns across Texas.  Every time we purchased a home I would decorate the family room, kitchen, both kids rooms, bathrooms and the patio.  When I got to our room I would run out of steam and money so it was never really the dream bedroom.  I would toss on a new bed cover and call it done.  This time was different I wanted to give us a room that was cozy and comfortable.  I wanted it to be our nest.  So five years after moving in its our time.

I started with making some notes as to what all this room had to be for both of us.  After spending lots of time thinking, writing and talking with Greg  I decided. It would  be a Nest of who we are as two people with different idea’s of relaxing.  I like blue and Greg likes Gray so that would be the color scheme.  Our master bathroom is also done in gray’s and blue’s so this would be a good flow from one room to the other.  Decorating our bedroom was never about perfection it was more about making it work for us and the way we live.   One of those ways was our night tables. Greg is about storage and having a place for all his stuff because the man has a lot of stuff.  Me I’m about a place to sit and use my computer, but it also has to serve as a night table.  I love having decorative pillows on my bed but it creates a problem at night when we go to bed.  If I lay them on the floor the puppies lay on them and that makes me unhappy.  I found this great laundry basket at Hobby Lobby and we use it for the pillows at night.  So they are off the floor and look decoratively organized.

There are so many more things that went into this room to pull it all together.  I will be sharing more with you as the week goes on until the big reveal on Friday.  I can’t wait to spend the next few years nesting in this room it has made me so Blue Happy. What room in your home do you spend the most time in? Is it decorated to make you Blue Happy?  If not, why not? Tomorrow is never to late to reboot your life with a Blue Happy room.
