Blue Happy Living

Yep I’m at it again, remodeling another room in my house. This time it’s Greg’s office and boy does it need it. We moved into this house and Greg’s job moved to a home base. While that was great to have him around more his office was a mess. He started working, there was never a time to decorate because he was always home. So it became that room that you hoped no one accidentally opened when they visited.

I’m sick of worrying that will happen so over the next 2 weeks I’m gonna take over his office and do my thing. Greg is gonna be in and out so he can work from the kitchen table to do his thing. I can’t wait, this little office is going to be amazing and full of exciting new things. I’m not sure he is ready for this but I am. I’m gonna organize his office and life, make it work in away it has never worked before. When I told him his eyes got really wide and his face seem to freeze. I’m sure that was from all the excitement of knowing I’m taking over. Okay maybe he is a bit afraid but he will love it in the end.

I’m gonna start with taking everything out and getting rid of a bunch of stuff. Over the past 5 years his office has come to be that room you put things in when you don’t know what to do with them. I hate that, so no more it’s gonna be the clean out of the century. I want his office to reflect him and his personality. Greg has always been a really hard worker and spends most of his day in this room. I think it needs to have personally and comfort.

After the clean out of the century I’ll be ripping out the carpet. I think I should have a party because I’ll be so much closer to having a carpet free home. I DO NOT LIKE CARPET NEVER HAVE NEVER WILL. I’ll wait to have that party when I get finished with the whole house. Base boards will come up next and be numbered so it’s easy to put them back. Before the wood floors get put in I will paint the walls the color of the rest of the house. I’m not big on different colors in every room. I like the color to flow from one room to the next. I know many people like different colors in every room and that’s ok too.

Greg had a great office in our home in Lucas. He had a beautiful desk but it was so big it didn’t fit in this home. We sold it and he hasn’t really had a nice desk since. That is why this office has to be amazing and full of his personality. I appreciate that my husband works so hard for my family. He never really complains about it and never has. My children grew up not wanting for anything and our homes have always been so nice. So all my attention and creativity is focused on Greg’s office.

Next Tuesday I will give an update on how far I have come with the new office. I get so excited about redoing a room.
