FREE STUFF!

May 25, 2016

I’m a bit on the excited side this Wednesday morning. Out side its gray and cloudy but that isn’t gonna get me down. The mood for the day is all Blue Happy. I love Wednesday because it’s trash day. I love it for 2 reason and it makes my heart sing. That might be a bit weird for some of you to hear that trash day makes my heart sing so I will explain.

I have always loved trash day every sense I started keeping house as a new wife. The day before I would go through my house and clean it out. Starting in the frig I would empty all the things that we no longer wanted and wipe it all down. Then I would proceed through the house going from room to room cleaning an tossing out the trash. The next morning I would feel so refreshed because the house would be rid of things that cause clutter and disorganization. It was an amazing feeling. I still do that to this day always starting with the frig and then move on until it’s all clean and fresh. I’m a creature of habit and it feels good.

Not only is trash day about refreshing your home and cleaning but it’s also a treasure hunt. I love, love, love trash day for hunting. I always go out the night before around 9 and start the hunt. I have a regular path I drive so not to miss any streets. I drive up and down these street very slowly not to miss anything. I repeat the path again the next morning around 7am. Some people put out their trash the night before and some the morning of. It is very rare for me not to find something. Sometimes you find small things and sometimes you hit THE JACKPOT! There are several people who trash troll my neighborhood so I have to beat these guys to the punch. On Wednesday mornings I always run my path as soon as I get out of the gym around 7am. That way most everyone have put their trash out and I beat the trash pick up that is around 8am.

This morning was no exception. I went out as always after I left the gym. My plate is full today so I had to hustle and get it done. The first few streets nothing but then a treasure to be had. I found a small table that has seen better days. As soon as my hands were on it I knew what to do with it. You will be surprised as to how this plain jane little table is gonna be transformed. I get so excited when I find something it’s a rush for me. My creativity goes crazy in my head and my heart beats really fast. I’m sure if you took my blood pressure it would be out of control. The next few streets earned me a beautiful tray and a small magazine rack. Nothing after that but what a score of treasures today. I’m so excited to work on these 3 pieces.

I hate that people toss out furniture and other items that have so much life left in them. I’m glad that I find these things and have a way to recreate them. On the other hand I think of all the streets I don’t have time to go down and that makes me sad. I challenge you to look around as you drive and find just one piece to save from the city dump. I promise it is a feeling that you will love!!!

On Friday I’m gonna have all 3 of these pieces done and they will be the star of the blog that day. I want to show you how  “One mans trash can be one mans or artist creative format”. I love to trash troll and I’m sure you will to but be very careful,  it is addicting. It’s HUMP DAY so go make it a Blue Happy one!
