Loud & Clear

October 10, 2016

My trip to Waco was successful. I enjoyed every minute of it and I learned a lot. Being quiet and hearing what I needed to hear has lightened my heart. I feel a renewed sense of purpose this morning!!

I got to Waco later than I thought Traffic was bad but I tried not to let it get to me. I arrived at the Silo’s and things were hoping. I wanted to run from place to place so I didn’t miss anything. I quickly remembered that I wasn’t on a time frame on Friday so I slowed it down so I could enjoy things. The Silobration started at 7:00 so I had plenty of time to walk around and see what all has been added to Magnolia Market. By far one of my favorites is the garden area. I was here a year ago and it was hardly planted, now its over flowing with plants and pumpkins.

I secured my place on the grounds so I had good vision to the stage. At 7 sharp they brought Chip and Jo to the stage by police escort. The crowd was so excited and went wild as the approached the stage. They made a few new but never heard before announcements and again the crowd went wild. They had a give away event first and gave away a $30,000 Harley. Wow that was exciting for the young man who won. After that Chip and Jo talked about their book and writing their story. The message was clear,  their faith was what brought all this on and their faith is what has kept it going. It was a testimony that is still ringing in my head and heart. Words that spoke to me. Remember what I said about being quiet and letting God speak to me. I was completely quiet and the words in this testimony spoke to me loud & clear. God can reach you using anyone, anything or any event he needs to. For me it was one sentence that rang out and touched me. I’m holding on to that and running with it.

The music was great, the cup cake was out of this world and the evening was perfect because Greg was there to share it with me. We ate a late dinner at one of our favorites and then crashed like two kids on Christmas morning that got up at the crack of dawn. That’s because we both got up at the crack of dawn. Saturday was full of things I had to get done followed by shopping for creative items for Blue Happy. Oh boy did I ever shop and boy did I ever find some cool creative things. My favorite place to shop now in Waco besides Magnolia is the Junkie Monkey and Junque in the Trunk. These two stores were jack pot for Blue Happy and I scored so much stuff. If you go to Waco you gotta go there and shop.

After I had finished up in Waco we decided to take off in a direction we had never gone before. We headed to Round Top Texas bound for the Junk Gypsy store. I love this show and the ladies that are on the show. They are really the true shabby chic girls and they have made a family business out of all their shabby chicness. It was a quiet ride with more thinking about things and great conversation with Greg. He is such a smart man and helps me walk through things I get turned around about. Not sure where I would be without him and his wisdom.

After Junk Gypsy were went on in to the town of Round Top. This is a fun little town with great stores to shop and great mexican food to eat. I bought a few pieces of hardware for future projects and got some great ideas while walking around. Round Top has a big antique show ever year in Sept/Oct and March/April. I’m looking forward to going next year in March. Pretty sure I’ll need a trailer to haul it all back. I visited Gasoline Hill & Antiques.  That is such a fun place to visit this guy has a great collection of old signs and weird cars.  The one in the picture tells it all it has a two fronts and two steering wheels.  So weird! In town I visited one of my favorite people to follow on insta-gram The Pie Queen. Her store is called Royers Pie Haven.  You have to visit her place so much pie and so many kinds of pie.

Well we headed home on Sunday and stopped at a few stores on the way home. We also passed a hoarders house I promise you this was not a store it was a persons front yard. For a moment my OCD reared its ugly head.   My trip was successfully so we didn’t stop anymore we just set our sites on Dallas. It was good to be back home and relish is all the goodies I bought as we unloaded them. The best thing I got this weekend was answers. My faith and my God never fail me. I ask and He answered, you can’t get it any better than that. Sometimes the answers aren’t what I want to hear, sometimes they are clear as a bell and sometimes I have to wait to understand. I know He will always give me an answer in His time. So on that note I’ll just wish you a Blue Happy Monday, be blessed.

    1. Your blog left us hanging! What was that all important sentence that spoke to you in Waco? Maybe it would speak to us too!
