It’s All Holiday Spirit At Blue Happy Living

December 4, 2015

Every year after the holiday as I take down my decorations I think next year I’m going to do something different next year. After a year passes I take out all my decorations and I fall in love all over again.  My decorations are the traditional reds, greens, silvers and golds.  I love the vintage ornaments and home-made ornaments are the best so full of love.

I’ve blogged a few times about my sweet little dog Frostie.  I got him in 1998 and he lived until 2013. My kids and I would often sing Frostie the snow dog to him at Christmas.  I started collecting snowmen during the Christmas holiday the year I got him and have ever since.  I have so many snowmen my house is covered up with them during this time of year.  My son says I have a real problem and need help.  I don’t care I love having them all around me it makes me think of him and remember all the memories.

My tree is called the memory tree because of the ornaments that have been bought over the years representing my children’s lives.  I enjoy putting up my tree and going through all the years of their lives.  My tree is so full there is hardly a branch with out an ornament.  My children lived full lives and my tree shows their path.  Next year my daughter will be moving into her beautiful new home.  I can’t wait to see her build Ethan’s memory tree with ornaments that tell his story over the years.

I’m so sad  to hear all the things that are happening around the world during this holiday season.  It’s heart breaking to see and hear about  the suffering of people.  I pray for these families that have lost so much this season feel the comfort of each other and peace within their faith.  We can all learn from these families that have lost so much to hold onto our loved ones and cherish every moment with each other.  We all spend so much time getting ready for the day of Christmas that we forget that it’s not a day, a moment, a tree or gifts it’s the season of Christmas and it is so much more.

I hope that your home is  full of decorations that make  you happy.  Spend sometime with someone you haven’t had the time to spend time with this year.  Buy a gift for someone who want expect a gift from you.  Bake a neighbor a dish and surprise them. Give the yard guy a bonus they would never expect.  Any of these things will give you a warmth this holiday season you will never forget.  This is the season to be happy. Enjoy this season because the next season of life can change.  All we get is this moment and once it passes it is spent.  Be Blue Happy during this holiday, keep a smile because you never know who your smile will bring warmth to.
