Easy Art Step 2

June 3, 2016

Okay so today your canvas should be all dry and ready to go with the final step. If you are just now jumping on board with my blog it’s a 2 day step blog about painting your own art for your home. So you might wanna go back and read yesterdays blog so this all makes sense.

Now your back ground should be dry and ready to go.  You can do this 2 ways in making your design.  First way would be to use stencils.  You can get these at any Michael’s or Hobby Lobby.  I think even Walmart sales stencils.  Over lapping stencils is how you get the best results so pick at least 5 different ones in several sizes.  You have seen me do stencils in so many ways.  You can tell a story or just pick all kinds of vines and flowers it’s really up to you.  Start with one of the biggest stencils first and then just keep layering one after the other. The picture below is of the tea cart I did in a past blog it is a great example of over lapping the stencils. The other option is to draw an out line of what you would like.  Maybe get some ideas from Pinterest or at a store that sales art.  Whatever you decide make it something that you can draw out pretty simple.  I didn’t show this step because I just free hand what every it is that I want.   You could do that, just go for it.  Black or white is the best to out line your work and make it stand out.  I used black to do the out line and then filled in a bit with the black to give it a heavier look.  I later added the white as an accent in different area’s of the art.

There really is no way to mess this up.  You can change the black and white or grab any other 2 colors that work for you.  It is your art and your home the rules are yours to make.  This is a great idea for a girls night in.  Make a supply list and sent it out with and invite to your girl friends. Everyone brings their own supplies, you cover your table, put out some snacks and pour the wine.  This doesn’t have to be a girls night out only you could make it a couples night out and have them paint together.  There are many ways to turn this into a paint party and not spend a ton of money at one of those paint places.

I hope that you enjoyed this do-it-yourself paint project.  I love to make things for my home and for gifts.  How impressed if you painted all your girlfriends gifts for their birthdays or the holidays.  I hope that you have a great Friday and it’s so over the top Blue Happy!
