How Did This Happen REVEAL!

March 17, 2016

I was stopped dead in my tracks on Wednesday morning when I went to get my Juice Plus out of the pantry. I mean what the heck happened in the pantry! I get so busy sometimes things get disorganized before I realize it. So that is what happened and boy is it bad. I can’t believe I’m gonna share this mess with you. It is so bad that it sent my head spinning out of control. The rest of my house is out of control because we are all torn apart with the remodel of Greg’s office and the two guest rooms. Exciting news is that on the blog the week after Easter will be the reveal of all three rooms. Now back to the other mess that I’ve gotta tackle, THE PANTRY YUCK!

First thing I did was clear everything out. My pantry is not deep but its long and wide. I kinda like it that way because it makes it easy to see and reach everything. I love to open the pantry and everything is in its place and a place for everything. It’s important for me to put things in the order of how I use them. For me my Juice Plus protein shake packets need to be up front and easy to grab. Next to that, dog treats cause we know that’s important. Everything else files in behind those things.

I have this great box that I found on trash day that I keep at the bottom of the pantry. Greg put wheels on it for me and it serves as a draw with great storage. This bottom space was always unorganized and wasted space until I found this box. The bottom space now make sense and works to store those larger items and the dog food bin.

I have shown the old draw on a previous blog. The dividers are what make it so functional for the pantry. It keeps my Juice Plus, season packets and other bagged items organized and easy to find. Just because it’s a pantry doesn’t mean that it can’t be decoratively organized. As you can see I use all kinds of bins, trays and shelves to make it a more functional pantry. Most of these items I used are recycled from other rooms in my home. At the bottom you will see a 4 drawer plastic box system to the left of the blue box drawer. I got this from Heather’s dorm room when she moved home. She used it by her desk for supplies. I use it in my kitchen to store shot glasses, it’s a pool party thing. I’m sure if you look around your home you will find all kinds of items you could use to make your pantry or closet work better.  It’s all about thinking outside the box and getting creative. I finished off the pantry with a great sign I found at a store in Rockwall. Just in case I have a guest and they can’t find the pantry they can just look up.  That is what I told Greg when he ask do I need that sign to find the pantry.  Lol Gregory I just liked it so I bought it!

Making your home more organized makes it more functional. When your home works for you it won’t work against you. Being in a functional place can make you oh so Blue Happy! Thursday is the eve to Friday so go rock it so Friday is the gravy of your week. Oh and BTW Happy St. Paddy’s Day!
