Mirror Mirror On The Wall

January 10, 2017

While shopping one of my favorite online auctions Rustybydesignauction.com I found this amazing mirror. The color was so great and I knew just where I was gonna hang it. I was redoing my guest jack & jill bathroom and over the sink it was gonna hang. This is where you would hear my husband say I told you it was too tall. He knows better to say that so down it went and stored away.

I put it behind my dresser in my bedroom. Hoping magically that the sink would somehow go lower or the light fixture would raise up. Well, that didn’t happen so I had this beautiful mirror just hanging out behind my dresser. It’s been there for months, I guess I didn’t want to give it up. I’m in a “if you ain’t using it then it’s gotta go” mood. I pulled out the mirror and thought maybe someone else can use and love it’s much as I did.

It was already painted with a beautiful color but the mirror was unstable. We stabilized the mirror using thin plywood. I cut it to fit the back and then stained it. Greg attached it to the back of the mirror. I love the way we cut the plywood so you don’t see it at the top but you can see it peek-a-boo through the sides and bottom. I wanted to make it usable in more that one place so it can be used in the bathroom, entryway, bedroom or even in a dinning room. The stain wood shelf on the bottom makes it more functional for organizing. I added hardware to the back for hanging. Finished and ready to hang in your home with a view.

Sometimes we over think things that we find or things we already have. If you just put a bit of thought to an item I’m sure that you can come up with even the smallest change. These changes make it work better for you and your family. I love this mirror, I hope that someone has a place for it in their home. I’ve placed it up at Doc Holliday’s Emporium 113 S Birmingham Wylie Tx. Maybe this mirror can add some Blue Happiness to your home. Have a great Tuesday!
