Broken Hearted In The Blink Of An Eye

January 9, 2017

I have been a teacher for 11 years at Wylie Prep. Every child I teach becomes a part of my heart.  I love all of them and it’s an unfailing love that will never end.  I get to know and love their families.  I have taught many  so my heart is full and heart broken all in one.  We have endured many ups and many downs over the years. I have seen this school broken and down, up and soaring. We always come together to support each other. Never has that been more real than on this past Saturday. Sadly we lost one of our own in a 4 wheeler accident. Ally Michelle went to see our Lord. Her little sister Sara is still in the hospital healing from her injuries.

Ally was a 10th grader an a force for Jesus. She was like a light when ever she walked into the room. I loved teaching her and she always challenged me. One of the last times I talked with her, it was over a donut. I told her not to tell her Momma I gave her one. Jana her mother is such a healthy person I didn’t want her mad at me. Ally told her Momma anyway. We all had a good laugh over the donut story.

I have taught at one point or another all 3 of the Hooten girls. I can honestly say they all 3 have the love of Jesus in their hearts, always respectful and always a delight to have in class. It is so clear their Mom and Dad have taught them respect and love for themselves as well as others.

Ally was a strong force on our campus. She played volleyball, basket ball and soft ball. She was an active part of her house system and had so many friends. There are empty hearts tonight and pain over flowing with those friends. I can’t imagine how these kids feel or how they will move forward. What I do know is that if Ally were here she would tell them all to get up, move forward and by the way I made it to Heaven first. In class I would often watch her and think she has no idea what so ever just how beautiful she is. I really meant that and still do. It wasn’t just her outer beauty it was her heart that made her so beautiful.

Tomorrow we have no school only a prayer service to support her friends and teammates. We are going to celebrate her life. It’s going to be a hard week for these kids, teachers and staff members. Really it’s gonna be a long time before any normal returns to our campus. We will continue to support with prayer Sara and her family as they work for peace in their hearts over this life changing event. We are a family at Wylie Prep, when one hurts we all hurt.

Ally was a Christian she is now with our Lord and Savior. Standing in Heaven with her bright light shinning. I know that when that moment came she opened her arms and ran to Jesus. She was that kinda girl always ready to run the race for her faith. Please pray for this family as they walk this road unknown.  Enjoy these pictures of this beautiful soul, she wears angel wings now. I will miss her so……..

    1. What a wonderful testimony! I am also in the education field, and you can “just tell” when students have the love of Jesus.

      1. Thank you for your kind words. We are a Christian school so I see many students with the love of Jesus in their hearts, but this child oh this child. She poured out her soul for her faith and Jesus was in everything she did and said.

    1. Dear Precious One:

I am a retired teacher and father of two BEAUTIFUL daughters. They are the light of my life…,but Jesus is first. Your Ally lit up the lives around her because Jesus filled up her beautiful soul. Through all the joys and pain life brings, she shined her steady light and love into all around her… because she knew personally the author and finisher of HER faith, the Lord Jesus Christ. And it seems she knew what it meant to be HIS child, and the riches of that special position.
I love Christ’s chastising words to his disciples when they wanted the children to leave his loving lap. “Suffer not the children to come unto me, for such is the Kingdom of Heaven”.
It seems clear that Ally really knew the meaning of these words, and now enjoys Him so fully, so joyfully, and so completely. I feel she will introduce Him to you one day… and your love will be so complete, though now I write this with tears.

Thank you for sharing a little of her story. God Bless You also for sharing your strength in Him. Though this is a beautiful world, it really represents the “shadowlands” of our real home in Heaven… a place more real, more glorious than anything on this earth.

Dear sweet Ally, thank you for shining so brightly our Savior.. in your life, and making Heaven more clear to us during your beautiful 16 years on His earth. We
will all rejoice on that great day… for I believe the next great event is the Rapture of His church… in not so distant a future.

All my love … A grateful friend and brother in Christ,

      Galen
