All In A Weekend

May 13, 2016

This is my last week of school I’m done with classes but still have a few things to tidy up on Friday. It has been a really good year at school. We are ending the year so blessed to have been able to teach these kids. This weekend is gonna be a busy one but full of fun, excitement and parties.

Graduation for Wylie Prep is on Saturday. I’m so proud to be a teacher walking in an honoring these great kids. I have an emotional investment this year with Alan Hankins graduating. I will miss this kiddo in art class so glad I got to witness his talent in action. There are several other kids that I have known for the past 10 years and will miss dearly. They have helped me in art camp, been my students in art class and my friends from here on out. I’m sure I will cry I always do when I see these kids walk across the stage and move on to the next stage of their lives.  We will finish the graduation with a celebration with the families of these amazing kids. They left the main staff a big surprise this past week.  Kinda hard to get to your office up stairs.

After graduation it’s Ethan’s birthday party. We are having it at our house because it’s a paint party for 14 kids. The subject matter to be painted…. Paw Patrol of course. Ethan is so excited and we are going to have such a great time. I love that he wanted a paint party.  There will be a time sooner than I want that he will not be in to paint parties with his Lolli.  He is growing up so very fast, next stop in Kindergarten August 2016.

On Sunday afternoon I will be preparing for art camp at Wylie Prep. It starts on Tuesday at 9am sharp. We have 70 kids signed up so it’s gonna be a full pack. We will be having paint fights, a paint slip-n-slide, painting with our fingers and toes and oh so much more. This camp is so important to our art program at Wylie Prep with the funds supporting our program. The kids love to come and our High School and Jr High kids love to work it. It is an all volunteer staff all for the love of art.

Monday is a full day with teacher in service. After that I’ll be back at school working on getting camp ready. Yes the next few days are full but I have some great blogs ready for ya’ll next week. Mondays project is so sweet and holds very special meaning to me. I’ll share a picture to give you a hint. This little ladder will become the focus of a celebration and the fence recycled from a neighbor’s tossed out trash will tell a story.  The rest of the week is gonna be great as well with new projects. I have a few artsy redo’s to show you along with a shabby chic piece that is put together from left overs.  My week was blessed and I hope that yours was as well. It’s Friday so buzz through your day grabbing all the happy you can find. Have a Blue Happy weekend and be blessed.
