Hit and Run I Was Involved

September 22, 2016

Today I decided to do something a bit out of the ordinary.  On Wednesday evening I loaded my car with a few fall items to decorate front doors. I had live mums, wreaths, pumpkins and a few Blue Happy items.  I loaded all up last night so I could hit all my friends doors on Thursday morning after I finish up at the gym but when I had day light of course.  Now I can’t do every ones doors so I decided to do a hit and run on my 5am gym girls after all they are my morning support!

As I started on my journey I was hoping for a smooth run with no barking dogs, no one thinking I was robbing them and please don’t call the cops on me.  I love to do things like this and surprise people.  I also like to see where my friends live.  A few of these gals just got back into their homes because of the hail storms in April this year.  There was so much damage that most people had to get in line for workers.  So this little hit and run to perk up their porches will be Blue Happiness!

When you get your porch ready for fall it doesn’t have to be expensive or over done.  Just give your porch a few small items to make it welcoming to your guest.  A new wreath for the door, a pot of fresh living mums and a pumpkin can make a world of difference.  When your porch is freshened up with fall items and colors from the street it  says welcome friends and neighbors.  You don’t have to use the traditional items, by adding things that are not normally used makes for good conversation among your guest.  I have a teak bench with pillows that match the end side of my house.  As the season’s change I always add a pillow that bring that season out. It adds season decor without over doing it.   I have several different types of plant stands and pots.  My favorite thing is the metal artwork that hangs above the bench.  Most of these items were meant for the end side of my home but I drug them outside to make my porch more welcoming and homey.

A couple of funnies happened in the process of this hit and run.  When I got to Shelly’s  home the house was getting a new roof so I couldn’t write you have been Blue Happied because the sidewalk was covered in shingles.  At Rhonda’s I’m sure her neighbor got a kick out of the fact that I tripped over air and did this weird recovery move so I didn’t fall all the way down.  At Nicky’s her neighbor ask why I was taking pictures and I had to explain.  Other than that all went well and it was a blast.

I hope you enjoy the before and after pictures as much as I enjoyed doing the hit and run on these doors.  I’ll be doing my front porch on Friday afternoon so that I can welcome guest to Ali’s bridal shower I’m hosting on Saturday.  Here in Texas we are having weird days of 98 degrees but the weather man is saying we are having a cool front next week and will be in the 80’s.  I hope this is true and not just fluff because I could go for some non 90’s days.  If you are or are not a fan of Fall weather you best get ready cause it’s just around the corner.  Seems the days are passing fast and the season come sooner than we are ready.  Taking the time to let those you love know how special they are to you is important.  These ladies are so very important to me and my journey I couldn’t let the opportunity pass without showing them.  Have a Blue Happy Fall Ya’ll!!
