Junk Heaven, I Believe I’m There

December 30, 2016

I’m in my happy place and there is junk all around me. All kinds of things to be used and turned into something amazing. You all know I love Waco. So here I am shopping some of my favorite stores. Had a list of wants and needs and I found a few of those things. Also found a few “not sure what this will be but it’s so cool” things.

If I’m in Waco I always stop at the Silo’s. It’s always a pleasure to go and shop there. Although the wind chill made it a bit uncomfortable outside. The hot coco bar inside was great. I took some great photo’s, snagged me a Silo Bakery t-shirt and enjoyed walking around. My New Years Eve guest will enjoy Silo Bakery goods.

Off to my second favorite in Waco what I refer to as junk heaven. That would be Junky Monkey. I’ve blogged about this place before and it gets better every time I go. That’s because Jill the owner does a great job at adding new and amazing things to her store. I’m coming home with several new/old things and most of it is from Junky Monkey. If your in Waco this store is a must shop.

Just down the road is another favorite and that’s called Riverside Relics. Forgot to take a picture but it’s on the same side of the road as Junky Monkey. This store also junk heaven with inside and outside treasure lots to dig through.  Also in love with Shades of Shabby and Antiques & Vintage Mall. When you go to these stores take your time so many treasures to grab up.

On our way out of town we stopped by Heritage Homestead. I always love stopping there it so peaceful. I bought a very special gift for a very special person in my life. Just to let them know they are loved. I also stocked up on my EVER so loved clover honey.

It was a short over night get away but so much fun. We had dinner at a great place called Ninfa’s. It will be a repeat place to eat on our next trip to Waco. We didn’t make it to far out of town before we stopped again at a roadside junk dealer. Now this was odd they seemed puzzled at our stopping. Then Greg realized that there were several men watching us. At one point they had us cornered. All I know was Greg bolted and said let’s get out of here. In the truck and on the roll before I could ask what’s up. I did notice several cars in the parking lot with men  in them and the motors running. Greg said it was just an uneasy feeling to him. So on the road again, wait now we stopped at down town Waxahacie. This little town will be my next Saturday day trip. I bought 2 old doors at Waxahacie Salvage. Great store, great prices and friendly owners. Now to get back to Dallas by 6 to pick up my babies or they spend another night at the vets.

A new year is upon us make it the best year yet. I don’t make New Year Resolution for me it’s just failure set up. I do make a list of things that are important for me to improve on and go from there. May you be blessed in 2017 and it be Blue Happy!
