Grounded

February 5, 2018

Bright and early on Saturday morning I left my house to meet the girls from the gym.  We all met up to carpool to the 5K Hot Chocolate Run in Dallas.  This race benefits the Make a Wish foundation.  A great cause and a great day for a 5K.  This was a request by Shelly that we all do this together before she is off to have her baby. This girl ran the 5K at 39 weeks pregnant.  We were all put in different corals so we teamed up with who we found in our coral.  Didn’t really matter who we were with we all knew we were all there together.  One by one we all finished the race and one by one we met up together.  After the reward of Chocolate and tons of photo’s we were off for lunch and much-needed refueling.

As I sat at the restaurant having a great lunch and fellowship I got quiet.  I looked at each one of these ladies and watched them for a bit.  Each one of them add so much to my life.  I’ve never once felt judged by them.  The support at times has over flowed my cup.  On those long days when I think I’m just about to give up I feel them lift me up.  I’ve never once walked into the gym and been afraid to try.  They have laughed at my goofy ways of doing things, they have called me out when I was cheating on a workout and more than once they have pushed me to try something I would have never tried.

Once in a great moon in your life you walk into a grove that is full of beautiful flowers that bloom in your life.  These ladies have shown me how to workout, how to rebuild my body and how to work smarter not harder.  They have been a constant in my journey and believed in me even when I didn’t believe. I’m ever so grateful and thankful for these ladies.  I’ve been blessed abundantly with a beautiful bouquet of gym girl flowers.
