Thrift Store Treasure Found

August 17, 2018

Summer is over and Monday I go back to my very scheduled life. Truth be told I love my controlled moment to moment life. I like order and schedule’s. I love to know day-to-day what is up and what is to be expected. Summer off is fun but it is the land of the unknown for people like me. Having no real day schedule and no real plan for the day. I like order and control.

This week has been full with restocking the Waco stores and preparing my room at school. Tonight was meet the teacher night. This weekend I plan on spending it with the hubs enjoying him. The school year doesn’t give us much time together. Also made a plan to have dinner with the bestie as she goes back to school on Monday as well. Time seems to be flying by these days. I need to find the brakes and slow this puppy down.

One day last week I decided to just take a break and go thrifting.  I have a few favorites I shop and I always find things.  This trip turned out different when I picked up a Zippy bag of vintage jewel.  When I got home I opened up the bag and found a treasure.  I love a brand of jewelry called “GoodWorks”.  These bracelets are a tad bit expensive but 25% of the funds go to charities.  I’ve had 2 of these bracelets and recently one I had broke.  I wear my bracelets everyday so I tend to wear them out.  When you buy these bags of jewelry you have no idea what you are getting.  When I opened the bag inside was a GoodWorks bracelet.  I was so excited it was a prefect thing to find having the word “Blessed” on it.  Along with that bracelet there was another bracelet that had a prayer engraved on it.  A charm on the bracelet said “Teachers Prayer”.  How perfect the week I’m preparing to go back to school.  God is good all the time.

I loved seeing all my students and meeting the new ones as well. The start of the year is full of new markers, paint tubes, paper and canvases. All waiting to be created with and bring out the art of those kiddo’s. The art show is 10 short weeks away. I can’t wait to see all the amazing things these kids do. So excited that my grandson will be in my afternoon art class.

Next week blogging returns to 5 days a week, with so many projects coming down the pipeline. Monday is one you don’t wanna miss Another day next week will be about the hoarders house I picked. There are 2 projects from that nasty house I rummaged through. One of those projects got me feeling a little gospel. I hope that this school year is full of creative love. I have a feeling about this year and all it has to offer. I’m feeling a little Blue Happy for Monday to start.
