Honestly It’s Not All Pretty

October 3, 2018

Social Media makes life look really pretty.  There are apps to make you look perfect and apps that can make you look more or less than you are.  Most of what we see on social media is fake or at best fluffed up. When I started Blue Happy Living the one thing I told my daughter was I want it to be honest.  I didn’t want to hide my truth. I wanted to share the good, the bad and the ugly.  Tonight will be the latter of the three.  Yep life has been a bit on the ugly side the past few days.  Nothing of great tragedy but it’s not been full of Blue Happy moments.

If you follow me on Instagram you saw when I posted the picture of me laying down with ear buds on.  My commit was “Time passes so slowly when you have a busy head”. This picture was taking a couple of weeks ago.  Greg got sick and spent a few days in the hospital.  All is good now and he is back at work and driving me crazy.  Sitting still and watching him sleep in the hospital was crushing for me and all the to-do list in my head.  I’m not sure why I didn’t share I just didn’t.  I didn’t want to come off whinny. I didn’t want people to feel sorry for me.  That is a big issue for me, showing my weakness. Just before his hospital stay he had smashed his hand and I lost my handy man for a few weeks.  I was on my own and feeling a little uneasy about getting it all done.  All of this was going down while I was in the mist of getting ready for the BoHo Buffalo Grand Opening in Waco.  Some how I muggled through it all and the grand opening was a success.

On Monday I picked up a piece of furniture.  My truck was on an incline so I had to load at an angle.  I was too much in a hurry to move it to a flat area. As I picked up the table a secret compartment flipped opened and it smashed into the left side of my face right at the temple area.  I’ve got a bruise and I’ve had a headache for 3 days.  My pupil on the left eye was a bit more dilated than the right.  It is all the same now and my headache is fading.  I’m good at being safe when picking up things and loading.  I was in a hurry that day and didn’t use good judgement.  Slowing down isn’t one of my better skills.  I’ve gotta work on that. When Greg was in the hospital he was ask do you have any hobbies.  He replied “keeping up with her”.  I smiled with a smirk because he is right.  He is always happily doing all the crazy things I come up with.

Look close you can see the bruise on my left eye.

Today is Wednesday and all day I was trying to put myself back on track.  I kept thinking okay if I go home and do this, this and this I’ll be caught up.  Then a text came across my phone “I’m on the ground I can’t wait to see you.  Looking forward to dinner and time together”.  Well all those to-do plans out the window.  Greg has been in Canada for almost a week.  Nothing else seemed to matter.  So my plan on the way home were rethought………it can all wait until tomorrow.   I’ve been a bit creative with a few pieces and I can’t wait to show you.  I’ll share those with you Thursday and on Friday.

The next Sidewalk sale at Doc Holidays will be October the 13th.  If you are a dish nut and love Pyrex Junk Punk Haus and Love and Rust will have all your heart desires.  I’ll have all kinds of things to ready your home for the Holiday’s so mark your calendars and come see us.
