Inspired

September 7, 2015

The weekend started out to be just that a simple weekend with no plans. Got up Saturday morning and the best husband ever took me to Waco, Texas.

Magnolia Market from the great HGTV show Fixer Upper was having a tent sale. By 10am we were well on our way to get in on the sale. We arrived around noon and the lines were long and it was hot. I had a blast going through all the goodies. It was fun buying things I saw Jo Gaines use in some of the show designs.

The best part was watching Chip Gaines greet and take pictures with the guests at the sale. My husband was the first to say that guy is truly a nice down to earth person. He was greeting people as if they were his friends for years. Their kids were there just hanging out as if this was so normal that people love their parents so much. Clearly they are just a couple that have not let this all go to their heads.

My sweet husband was very generous on the spending and let me grab up so many goodies. I’m sure you will enjoy reading about how I used them in my decorating in the weeks to come.

We left Magnolia Market and visited Harp Designs, one of Jo’s furniture builders. At one point the Harps were on the show having a home redone. I knew it was near the shop and although I’ve never noticed it when I visited before, my husband noticed it right away. It was next door to their shop and it is really beautiful and amazing. When they did the show Clint Harp designed and built the door for the home. I took a picture above to share with you.

The day wasn’t over yet we visited one of the local coffee shops called Common Grounds. This was a young couple that also had a home redone by the Gaines. This coffee shop is a must stop if you go through Waco. It’s a great hang out for the locals but a great place for visitors to the Baylor campus and Waco area.

We made a quick run by the Silos in downtown. I was last here in July and since then a lot has been done. They are clearly on the way to being ready for the big night October 30th. Guess who got tickets? Me Me Me!!!!!!! I’m so excited to see all this unfold.

We made one more stop but I will tell you all about that in another blog. It has a very special story behind it and I’m working on a few plans that will go along with that story.

I do spend a lot of time blogging about Magnolia Market. On Facebook and Instagram I post things that have to do with their items and ideas. I believe we all need to be inspired and that is what Magnolia Market, Fixer Upper and Waco does for me. I love the story behind their success, how they got started, and that their faith in God has led them to all of this. There is so much trouble and sadness in this world that hearing a great story and belief in God just thrills my heart.

Holding onto things that inspire you can only make you happy. I admire anyone that can be open and show how God has moved in their lives. I’ve waited so long in my life to just let go and trust God. I’ve waited because I have allowed so many things and people to interfere in my trust and faith in God. I love being where I am in life, I love that my faith in God is so important to me. I love that God never gave up on me. I just really love life at this moment. I’m happy, healthy and in love with all I have and all the good and bad I’ve gone through. Everyday more and more I can see the plan God is laying out for me and my sweet husband. I’m so looking forward to the future with Blue Happy Living. I hope you pray and find your way to a Blue Happy life. Go be Blue Happy!
