The Real Reason

December 22, 2015

I love this time of year. It’s days before our holiday friends and family Christmas Eve party. So much to do, so much to prepare and so much planning. I love it all right down to the cleaning.

I can’t wait for everyone to arrive all dressed in their holiday ugly sweater and festive wear. There are so many special treats to eat and the best will be Karen’s sugar cookies. I have set up all the tables with dishes and festive table top decorations.

I love the tree with all the wrapped gifts under it. The stocking are hung below the mantle full of snowmen and the front porch is full of holiday cheer to greet our guest.

My heart is full of love and excitement for Christmas day. With all that is going on it’s easy to get caught up and forget to have a giving heart. Not a gift that you are giving to your friends or family, but a gift for someone or a child that isn’t going to have much this Christmas. It’s not to late to reach out and help someone. Yesterday there was a post on Facebook about a nursing home needing small gifts for patients who don’t have family that will visit. How blessed to give something to an elder person with no family.

There is so much going on I have friends with medical issues, friends with death in the family and friends that are going through tough family times with divorce and job loss. It is a hard time to just set it all to the side and remember the real reason for the season. With out that it’s all pointless.

My prayer for you and your family is a day of comfort and peace. I hope you can find a moment to just put all aside and be blessed. Take the time to enjoy life and the moment. Know that Christ was born and he is the real gift that is open to all no matter the place your feet are planted. God bless and have a Blue Happy Holiday.
