Kitchen Reorganized

January 13, 2016

I have this long bank of cabinets that I store all of my dishes that I use for parties, BBQ’s and any other type of gathering. I love to host a party and have all my friends and family in my kitchen eating. What I don’t like is having to look for a dish under this mess of a cabinet. So on the top of my to do list is to organize them, delete those things I don’t use and make it easier to find things.

I’m in love with these under cabinet sliding drawers. You can get them in many types from plastic, wood and metal. Almost every big box store like Lowes, Home Depot, IKEA and even Bed Bath and Beyond have them. I have looked at many in the store and many online and for me, my favorite is the metal one at Bed Bath and Beyond. It is the most sturdy and seems to last long. Some of the metal drawers have been in other parts of my kitchen for 5 years. So off I went to get 8 to fill the long bank of cabinets.

These are so easy to install. The box includes all you will need and it only takes about 15 minutes per drawer to install. When you open the box there is a templet so there is really no measuring. Line up the temple where you want it and using an electric drill screw it down on each rail. That’s it instant organization.

Just above the first cabinet on the counter top sits Greg’s beloved coffee maker. So in the first metal drawer I decided it was a great place for all his coffee items. That way they are handy but out-of-the-way when not using them. From there I just started with my party dishes. I almost wanna have a party so I can use this well-organized space.

These metal cabinet drawers can be used for many items in your home. I have them in my bathroom under the sink to store my hair tools. I also used them in my guest bathroom to store towels under cabinets. Other uses in my kitchen make things easy for guest to serve themselves. I have one that holds my chips and crackers. That is great because when my grandson comes over he can reach them when he needs them. I have one under the kitchen sink that holds all my cleaning supplies. I’m sure you can think of many other ways that would help organize your home.

Organizing your home to where you have a place for everything will save you time in the long run. When you have to search for things, move things and sometimes lose things it makes for an unhappy home. These cabinet drawers are an investment but worth every penny to save you time. I hope that you find Blue Happy ways to organize your home. Happy Wednesday!!!
