It Just Wasn’t My Day!

October 27, 2016

My Thursday started like any other Thursday at the gym before the sun came up.  Stair climber for 75 floors, then weights and abs with Nicky at 6:15.  In my truck and home to go about my very busy but planned day by 7am.  It all seemed so normal until the mail came then I was sent into a tail spin.  The letter printed on my insurance letter head and had a phone number that was connected to my insurance company.  What it said in the first line upset me so much I stopped everything I was doing and dealt with it asap. I knew nothing would get done until I solved this problem.

Back in March I blogged about a blood test I had done that showed I had liver issues.  A repeated test 30 days later proved that my liver was perfect and the test was bad because of an over the counter liver cleanse I was using.  Okay off I went all is good right, NO almost 8 months later my insurance sends a letter telling me because of my liver damage I needed a vaccine called Hep C.  What I don’t have liver damage or issues so why are they sending me this.  Call after call no one could tell me anything other than call your doctor to see if they want to give you the vaccine. Again WHAT! Nothing made sense at all.  I’m not proud about an hour into this I lost my southern charm and became quiet the rude B on the other end of the phone.  I pretty sure this lady hates  me at this point.  She said why did you call this number? Because it’s on the letter.  Why didn’t you just call your doctor and ask if you need this vaccine? Really just when have you ever called your doctor for a casual conversation? I don’t know maybe you need the shot? Look you sent me the letter so you are the people who say I need it.  It went on and on just like that for over 2 hours.  Many put on holds, many people later I still knew nothing.

I’m a proactive person so I got in my car and drove to my doctor’s office.  I needed answers why when I was told all was good am I getting this letter now so many months later.  I’m very good friends with my doctor I taught her kiddo’s art for a long time.  I totally trust her and I knew she would get to the bottom of this.  She did and after all that it’s all good.  The letter was sent in response to the first blood work. Yes that many months later someone decided to notify me I might need a vaccine for Hep C.  They never looked at the second blood work to see it was all clear.  I hate insurance companies it’s all one big game.  I take my health VERY serious and this rocked my world today and nothing planned from noon on got done.  I’m a bit of a panic soul so I guess I need to work on that.

The day wasn’t a total lost tonight was BOO on BALLARD.  A trunk or treat given by the city of Wylie.  I gave out candy at Doc Holliday’s Emporium.  We had lots of cuties come by and get candy along with lots of my students.  Just before all the kiddo’s came by I loaded up my booth once again with new and exciting items.  My Thursday was bumpy but everything worked out.  I hope yours was Blue Happy.
